Holder's Cottage​
The beautiful timber-framed Cottage has unspoiled woodland views from the two large double bedrooms upstairs, with ceiling fans and ample storage, and one ensuite shower room.
Downstairs is a sociable open plan kitchen, diner and lounge with a cosy wood burner in a large stone fireplace in the centre. There is a double sofa bed, everything you need in the kitchen, a downstairs bathroom and utility area with washing machine.

There's wifi and a well stocked bookcase too.

The Cabin

Or as we like to call it 'The Settle-Inn'.
Why not get away from it all in an authentic Appalachian Log home? Our traditional 18 x 16ft West Virginia log cabin on top of the mountain is surrounded by forest with a cosy wood burner and a large deck. It's a 20 minute walk from the Cottage.
This off-grid mountain accommodation is for living simply with a good, clean outhouse, large stone chimney with wood burner, no mains power, led lights and a usb outlet from a solar panel.
At 2600ft, up its own 1/3 mile track, it’s as remote as you can get. Do get in touch to find out more about renting the cabin.
Getting around

This rural West Virginia escape near Elkins is 3 hours drive from Washington Dulles Airport (7 hours flight from London), and also accessible from Pittsburgh Airport.

The Cottage and Cabin are situated on a quiet forest road, so you will need a car to get around. However, we have bikes for exploring once you get here - Elkins is 8 miles away on the old flat logging railroad.
